10 | gear | Unpacking and filling lubricating oil | Cumulative working hours: 600 hours |
2. Maintenance of air filter
Dirty air filter will prevent air from entering the carburetor, resulting in carburetor failure, intensified wear of gasoline engine and insufficient output power. The air filter should be maintained regularly. Especially when the machine is used in dusty places, the environment is bad, and the air filter should be cleaned many times.
If the mesh of the air filter is blocked by dirt, please divide the air filter into two along the fastening surface and clean it with gasoline. When using compressed air, it should be blown from inside to outside. When combining the separated air filter, press the side ring around. When it makes a click, it indicates that it has been inserted in place.
Note: during cleaning, do not allow dirt to enter the engine air inlet, otherwise the engine will be damaged.
3. Maintenance of spark plugs
In order to ensure the normal operation of the engine, the gap of the spark plug must be appropriate and free of deposits. The reasonable gap of spark plug is 0.65mm, which should be checked frequently. If it is too large or too small, it should be adjusted.
Note: do not use spark plugs with incorrect calorific value.
4. Carburetor adjustment
Note: non professionals generally do not adjust the carburetor.
5. Long term storage
When the machine is not used for a long time, in order to start smoothly next time, the maintenance shall be carried out according to the following procedures:
1) Drain the fuel in the fuel tank and carburetor;
2) Remove the spark plug, add an appropriate amount of engine oil to the cylinder block from the spark plug hole, gently pull the starter 2 ~ 3 times to make the piston at the top dead center, and then install the spark plug;
3) Wipe the outer surface of the machine with a soft cloth soaked in engine oil and keep the machine in a ventilated and dry place until next use.
Common faults and troubleshooting
1. It is difficult or impossible to start the engine
Check whether the spark plug sparks first. Unscrew the spark plug, contact the spark plug electrode with the cylinder block, pull the starting rope, and observe whether there is spark between the spark plug electrodes. Don't touch the metal part of the spark plug with your hands. Your clothes will get an electric shock.
